Welcome to Solareclipse 3.1!
Spectacular it is not. CSSP it is. If this looks like a jumbled mess in your browser,
you need to upgrade it. Plain and simple. CSS & CSSP have been standards since 1997.
There is no excuse for your use of a browser that doesn't support the standards.
What Is Solareclipse Anyway?
In June of 1998, things weren't looking up in the communities I participated in. The heads of the communities were coming down with near fatal cases of Real-Life-Itis. They were unable to manage what they had created. This was a Bad Thing
A friend of mine and I decided to do something about it, so we announced our intention to take our parts of the site independantly. We never finished, as we got cases of Real-Life-Itis ourselves.
Slowly but surely, it's all coming together though. Give me another decade. :)
Places of interest:
» Flare Sci-Fi Forums --
The lead attraction - the forums! Originally Star Trek based, they got a mini-overhaul
a few years ago in a futile attempt to cover a little more ground.
They're also one of the testing grounds for the Infopop
Ultimate Bulletin Board.
(Infopop being my employer, of course)
» Solareclipse Chat -- Show up if you dare. A few people actually do from time to time.
» UP3 --
UP3, AKA Utopia Planitia III, is (eventually going to be) the third instance of
the ex-Behaviour Group Star
Trek ship database, a unique mix of the canon and non-canon.
It's been in development for a few years now. It's showing signs that it might
actually be completed at some point. Keep an eye on
Flare for status updates.
» Pleh! -- Another one of the many domains I registered with all intentions of doing something with, but that never really got off the ground. Watch it, as I may actually like, oh, put something there.
Other places of possible interest:
» Ethereal Plains --
The Girlfriend's site. Check out her awesome poetry section!
(Yes, she did ALL the graphics.. *drool*)
» Kurodot -- A year or so ago, Segfault spun a story about a mythical news site created in the models of Kuro5hin and Slashdot that suffered a massive denial of interest attack. I registered the domain, and actually intend to do something useful with it sometime in the relatively near future. (Chances are it'll be done before UP3...)
» Fuckwits Dot Org -- Another "Coming Soon, I Promise!"... There is a classification of player in online multiplayer games that is, for lack of a better phrase, too dumb to live. This is the fuckwit. Do not confuse the fuckwit with the Llama - they are completely different animals.
